ST. BONAVENTURE — Roughly 350 miles separate the New York City and St. Bonaventure University.
But, despite the juxtaposed distance, for numerous young women who are natives of the country's most populous city, the road to the modest St. Bonaventure campus symbolizes a dream and a chance.
Primarily, it gives talented athletes the opportunity to play basketball at the Division I level. Subsequently, it gives these athletes — born with a fervor for competition — the opportunity to prove those who overlooked them, wrong.
