OPENING TIP OVERVIEW
The St. Bonaventure women's basketball team will try to stretch its win streak to three games when it hosts Davidson on Wednesday night at the Reilly Center. Bonaventure is coming off A-10 victories over UMass and Duquesne in the past week and seeks its second three-game winning streak of the season.

QUICK HITS

  • Junior Mariah Ruff was named to the Atlantic 10 Weekly Honor Roll after averaging 15.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in a pair of wins last week. She filled the stat sheet with 17 points, seven rebounds and six assists last Thursday at UMass before finishing with 13 points, five assists and four rebounds in Saturday's victory over Duquesne. It was a return to form for Ruff, who had a streak of 62 straight games with points scored snapped in a Jan. 15 loss to Fordham. Six of Bona's eight wins have come when Ruff scores 15 or more points.
  • Freshman Jalisha Terry also was picked to the A-10 Honor Roll after averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists last week. Terry has played veteran minutes this year – since joining the starting lineup Nov. 19 at Delaware, she has played 30+ minutes in all but two games including 35 or more minutes seven times.
  • Opponents are shooting 36.0 percent for the season against the Bonaventure defense, ranking second in the league behind only George Washington (35.4%) and 32nd in the nation.
  • Bona had five players score in double figures Saturday vs. Duquesne – the last time that happened was Jan. 18, 2015 vs. Dayton.

GAME STORYLINES

What to watch for in Wednesday's game:

  • In a pair of wins vs. UMass and Duquesne last week, the Bonnies trailed for just 1:25 of game time.
  • The Bonnies had a +16 rebounding margin at UMass last Thursday, their best since a +22 margin vs. James Madison Dec. 7, 2015. SBU again had a +6 margin on the boards Saturday vs. Duquesne, outrebounding opponents in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
  • The Bonnies are 5-1 this season and 52-12 since the 2013-14 season when scoring 60 or more points.
  • Sophomore guard Mckenna Maycock had a career high 14 points Saturday vs. Duquesne. She will try to post double-figure scoring in back-to-back games for the first time in her Bonnies career.
  • Gabby Richmond has at least one steal in the past eight games. She's also coming off a game Saturday where she matched her career high with 12 rebounds.
  • The Bonnies average under six steals per game for the year, but have nine each in the past two games. Prior to last Thursday, SBU had nine or more steals just twice – 11 vs. Rhode Island and 13 vs. Dayton.
  • A win would be Bona's third in a row and keep the Bonnies perfect vs. Davidson.
  • Entering this week, St. Bonaventure is 10th in the Atlantic 10 standings, a game out of a tie for eighth. Seeds three through eight will earn first round home games in next month's Atlantic 10 Tournament (the top two seeds earn byes through to the quarterfinals in Richmond).

SERIES HISTORY
St. Bonaventure's last two games have been against its two longest running A-10 rivals – UMass and Duquesne. Wednesday the Bonnies face the Atlantic 10 foe they've played the least – taking on Davidson for just the third time. Bona has won the previous two meetings, both coming the past two years after the Wildcats joined the conference, and is 1-0 against Davidson at The RC with a 72-56 victory on Feb. 21, 2015. The Wildcats joined the Atlantic 10 two years ago after spending the previous 21 seasons as part of the Southern Conference.

LAST MEETING
St. Bonaventure outlasted Davidson, 59-47, outside Charlotte on Jan. 13, 2016. The Bonnies opened the game on a 10-2 run, but it was a 16-10 score after the first quarter and the Wildcats kept the deficit at single digits throughout the first half. Bona's 12-2 run to start the third stretched the score to 37-21, but the Wildcats would get as close as 42-35 early in the fourth quarter before the Bonnies defense locked down. Only 16 of SBU's points that night came from players currently on the roster (Mariah Ruff – 8, Imani Outlaw – 6, Gabby Richmond – 2), while Mackenzie Latt led Davidson with 13 points.

ABOUT DAVIDSON
Davidson ranks 12th in the A-10 in scoring at 58.4 points per game and last in scoring defense, allowing 71.0 ppg. The Wildcats do, however, lead the league in steals with 8.6 per game. The offensive glass has been a strong spot for the Wildcats as they rank fifth in the A-10 with just under 14 offensive rebounds per contest. Their 2.8 three-pointers per game, though, are fewest in the A-10 this season.

Mackenzie Latt is one of the most prolific scorers in the league, ranking fourth in the A-10 with 16.2 points per game. Justine Lyon adds 12.9 ppg and stands 15th in scoring. Kianna Speight gives Davidson a third double-figure scorer (10.4 ppg), but has not played since Dec. 29 vs. Mercer. Latt also gives Davidson a big presence on the boards as she stands sixth in the league with 8.2 rebounds per night and her 2.1 steals per game also are sixth-best among all A-10 players. Chloe Johnson facilitates the offense well, handing out 4.0 assists per game to rank seventh in the A-10.
