TOLEDO, Ohio – Strong shooting from host Toledo and too many turnovers by the St. Bonaventure women's basketball team proved to be a costly combination for the Bonnies Sunday afternoon in a 74-50 setback at Savage Arena.

Gabby Richmond totaled nine points, nine rebounds and matched a career high with five assists. Jalisha Terry posted a team-high 12 points and Matea Britvar finished with nine points and six rebounds.

Toledo earned its fourth victory of the season over an Atlantic 10 opponent, already having defeated Dayton, Davidson and Rhode Island. The Rockets improve to 8-1 on the season with their only defeat coming by two points last month to No. 9 UCLA.

The Bonnies (4-6) led for the majority of the first period after scoring the game's first four points, and later seized leads of 9-4 and 11-6. Toledo would record the final five points of the quarter, though, leaving the score tied at 11 after the opening 10 minutes.

Bona did not trail until Janice Monkana drained a straight away three to give the Rockets a 14-11 edge early in the second quarter. Monkana's triple came as part of a 17-2 Rockets run spanning the first and second quarters to give the hosts control.

The Brown and White closed to within 27-20 following a three-point play from Terry late in the second, but the Rockets then got hot again to take a 34-20 lead to intermission.

Toledo stretched its lead to 20 early in the third quarter, but the Bonnies would pull to within 49-32 following a pair of pretty layups from Mckenna Maycock and Richmond along with a three from Britvar.

That would be as close as the Bonnies would get the rest of the way, however, as the Rockets continued their assault.

Mariella Santucci paced all scorers with 13 points for the Rockets, adding four assists. Jay Bravo-Harriott also had 12 points for the hosts. In all, the Rockets shot 41 percent from the floor (27-for-66) while the Bonnies shot at a 40 percent clip (18-45).

Maycock registered six points and four rebounds while Danielle Migliore recorded a career high eight points and Rhianna Council also played a career high  17 minutes off the bench.

Turnovers were a killer for the Bonnies as 16 miscues during the first half paved the way for Toledo to launch its attack. Toledo recorded 33 points on the day off 29 Bona turnovers.

The Bonnies now have a week off for finals before returning to the Reilly Center to face 2016 NCAA Tournament participant Albany on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m.
