ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Seniors Katie Healy and Nyla Rueter along with sophomore Miranda Drummond combined for 52 points to power the St. Bonaventure women's basketball team to a 74-63 victory over visiting Toledo on Sunday afternoon at the Reilly Center.

The win improves the Bonnies to 3-2 overall on the year while Toledo falls to 0-5.

Healy posted a game-high 18 points along with seven rebounds. The senior connected on 6-of-8 shot attempts to go along with four assists, four blocks and three steals in just 26 minutes of action. Drummond also went 5-of-8 from the floor, adding three assists to record 17 points. Rueter, meanwhile, also finished with 17 points.

After a slow start from both teams that saw Toledo take an 11-8 edge after one quarter, the Rockets raced ahead with a 10-2 run spanning the end of the first quarter and start of the second to capture their largest advantage of the day at 16-8 with 8:13 left in the first half.

St. Bonaventure turned the tide, however, launching a 17-2 sprint and ultimately going into halftime with a 27-21 edge behind 12 points and six rebounds in the opening 20 minutes from Healy.

Toledo cut the deficit to three at 38-35 with 2:54 left in the third quarter, but a quick 9-2 burst bookended by a 15-foot jumper from Drummond and a three-pointer from the sophomore pushed the lead back out to double digits.

A trio of treys from the Rockets brought the visitors back to within 56-50 with 5:57 remaining, but by then it was Rueter who had come to life offensively for the Brown and White. The senior guard scored all of her 17 points in the second half, giving the Bonnies a 61-50 lead with 3:41 remaining following one of her three shots from long range.

From there, the Bonnies never looked back as they shot a red hot 60 percent (15-of-25) from the floor during the second half, finishing at 50 percent (25-50) for the day.

Redshirt junior Gabby Richmond contributed eight points off the bench with sophomore Matea Britvar also chipping in six points and two blocks.

"I was really pleased with our response to a tough first quarter," Bonnies head coach Jim Crowley said. "We saw some really good leadership out of our kids and had our offense humming pretty well the last three quarters. It was a great team effort and a really good all-around offensive performance for us."

Ana Capotosto led Toledo with 15 points.

The Bonnies are next in action on Tuesday night at Stony Brook.
