Women’s Basketball To Host A Series Of Summer Camps


ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women's basketball program will host a series of three different camps this summer at the Reilly Center.

The first is a "Day in the Life" camp which will be held on Sunday, June 24. The second is a day camp which runs from July 9-13. The final camp of the summer is the team camp, which will take place Aug. 3-5. Information brochures about each camp can be found at the top of this release or under the "Camps" section of

The "Day in the Life" camp provides aspiring Division I players a sense of how a D-I program works and what is involved in being a D-I athlete. Campers will receive one-on-one coaching from the Bona staff in areas such as: game strategy, scouting reports, media, nutrition, weight training and skill development.

The cost of the camp is $75. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 in the RC. The deadline to register for the "Day in the Life" camp is June 20.

DAY CAMP: July 9-13
The day camp is for ages 8-17 and runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $130 per camper and the deadline to register is June 24.

The camp is designed to help each young player develop her basketball abilities through individual instruction and team competition, while stressing the importance of sound fundamentals.

TEAM CAMP: August 3-5
The final camp of the summer is the three-day team camp which allows teams to compete against other junior varsity, varsity and AAU teams. Each team is guaranteed at least five games over the course of the weekend, with coaches' Chalk Talks, skill instructions, practices and competitions built into each day.

The cost of the camp is $190 per player. All meals are provided at the campus dining hall and each camper will receive a free T-shirt. Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a $300 non-refundable team deposit.

St. Bonaventure won a program-record 31 games in 2011-12 and advanced to the Sweet 16. Head coach Jim Crowley – who is scheduled to be present at all camps – was named as's National Coach of the Year and Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year.
