LOUISVILLE, Ky. – All 11 members of the St. Bonaventure men's cross country team competing Saturday morning set personal best times while the top two times in school history fell at the Live in Lou Cross Country Classic.
Senior William Delaney shattered the 8K program record by taking advantage of the perfect conditions and a fast, flat course at Tom Sawyer Park, running the layout in a time of 25:36.6. That time easily eclipses what had previously been the program-best mark of 26:10.2 set by Nick Masiello six years ago.
Nathan Prisella also surpassed the previous school record with ease, crossing the finish line in 25:43.7 to rank second in the Bonnies record books.
The fast times continued throughout the Bona lineup.
Freshman Hayden Barry posted a time of 26:35.2 which will stand fourth individually in program history. Fellow freshman Darion Gregory clocked in at 26:52.8, now good for ninth all-time individually for the Brown and White.
One of the largest and most well-attended cross country races in the entire nation, the Louisville Classic is in its 18th annual running. Schools from 31 states across the country convened in the Bluegrass State Saturday to compete at the course which has hosted the 2012, 2015 and 2017 Division I national championships.
