MECHANICSVILLE, Va. – Junior William Delaney showed the way for the St. Bonaventure men's cross country runners at the Atlantic 10 Championships Saturday morning at Pole Green Park outside Richmond.
Delaney crossed the finish line of the five-mile course in 27:25, running his best career A-10 championship time, set two years ago at the same location, and also his personal best five-mile finish. It was also the best A-10 championship time for any Bonnies men's runner since Joe Ferencik ran the Pole Green Park layout in 26:47 in 2015.
Nathan Prisella took second on the team with his run of 27:49, easily surpassing his effort in the championship race last year. A fellow sophomore, Ryan Chmiel, and senior George Laraia were neck-and-neck at the finish line with times of 28:06 and 28:11 respectively.
Logan Caruso was also in the scoring for the Bonnies in his first conference championship meet, finishing at 28:31.
