Bonnies Compete in West Point Invitational

WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y. - Junior William Delaney paced the St. Bonaventure men's cross country team at the West Point Invitational Friday morning with his effort on the 7.6K Bowdoin Park course.

Delaney, fresh off setting the Bona program record in the 5K less than two weeks ago, ran an effort of 26:08.9 and had an average mile time of 5:32. He finished 38th in the field of 81 competitors.

Freshman Jack Duncanson was second on the team with his time of 26:58.5, just ahead of sophomore teammate Ryan Chmiel (26:59.6) at the finish line. Duncanson had an average mile time of 5:42.7 while Chmiel was at 5:42.9.

Another first-year runner, freshman Logan Caruso was fourth on the squad at 27:41.9 while senior George Laraia was next at 27:56.4.

The Bonnies are next in action Sept. 22 at the Anderson Invitational.
