Delaney Leads Bonnies Men's Cross Country at Binghamton Invitational

VESTAL, N.Y. – Freshman William Delaney again showed the way for the St. Bonaventure University men's cross country team Saturday morning at the Binghamton Invitational as the Bonnies finished third as a team.

Delaney came home 12th overall in the field of 39 competitors, running the 7,800-meter course in a time of 26:50.9 with a mile pace of 5:33.

Senior captain Ben Collins placed second on the team and 18th overall with his mark of 27:55.4, just ahead of freshman Devan Cavanaugh who was 19th at 27:57.2.

Freshman Mark Vaccaro (28:47.0) and junior Matthew Bacher (29:00.5) rounded out the scoring for the Bonnies.

Host Binghamton took the win with 18 total team points while Colgate was second with 51 points and St. Bonaventure third at 67 points.

St. Bonaventure returns to action next weekend at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational hosted by Roberts Wesleyan in Rochester.
