Bonnies Men's Cross Country Opens 2016 Season at Little Three Championship

BUFFALO – Freshman William Delaney paced the Bonnies in his collegiate debut as the St. Bonaventure men's cross country team placed third at the Little Three Championship held at Delaware Park Golf Course on Friday night.

Delaney came home 12th overall in a field of 38 runners with his time of 16:29.1 over the 5K course.

Senior captain Ben Collins was next for the Bonnies in 20th at 16:57.4 while another freshman, Devan Cavanaugh was third for the team at 17:14.3.

Also scoring for St. Bonaventure was junior Matthew Bacher with a time of 17:28.6 and freshman Mark Vaccaro with his time of 17:41.3.

Host Canisius won the team scoring with 15 points while Niagara was second with 54 points and St. Bonaventure third with 74.

The Bonnies compete next at the Binghamton Invitational on Sept. 17.
