ALBANY – Senior Joe Ferencik paced the St. Bonaventure men's cross country team on Saturday at the Great Dane Invitational 8K race as the Bonnies ran their final warm-up for the conference championships to be held in two weeks.

A total of 158 runners from 14 teams competed in the R.K. Munsey Men's Championship 8K with Ferencik finishing 48th overall. The Bonnies turned in a 10th place finish as a team with 278 team points. Middlebury won the team scoring with 74 points, sneaking past Siena's 75 while Marist (78), Albany (82) and Manhattan (94) completed the top five.

Ferencik ran a 26:57.3, the eighth-fastest 8K time in Bonnies history. The native of Massapequa, N.Y. already owns the second-fastest SBU 8K time, turned in earlier this season.

Sophomore Ben Collins (27:23.6) and freshman Caleb Johnson (27:30.1) narrowly missed top 10 program times as well, finishing 63rd and 68th respectively.
