Bonnies finish last at Northeast Regionals

MADISON, CONN.- The men's and women's cross country teams both ended their seasons with last-place finishes at Northeast Regionals friday.

Iona was the winner on the men's side while Providence College came out victorious in the women's race.

A bright spot of the race was that new top times in St. Bonaventure History were set for both the men's 10k and the women's 6k race. Sophomore Harley Thompson established the new top time with a 33:45 finish. Freshman Kerry Caher was the first Bonnies' runner in on the women's side for the fifth consecutive race.

Sophomore captain Hannah Robinson was next for the Bonnies with a 24:17 finish. Freshman Aubrie Russell came in right after Robinson with a time of 24:21 Sophomore Elizabeth Dickinson the fourth SBU finisher at 24:44. Freshman Rachel Dorogi was the final scorer for the Bonnies while finishing at 26:19.

Freshman Joe Ferencik finished second to Thompson on the men's side while clocking in at 34:42. Freshmen Kevin Sidoran and Nick Konotopskyj were the third and fourth finishers for the Bonnies with times of 34:49 and 35:41 respectively. Sophomore Steven Kibbe was next for the Bonnies with a time of 35:54. Freshman Caleb Lecker rounded out the field for the Bonnies with a 36:08 finish.

Northeast Regionals marked the final meet of the 2012 cross country season for St. Bonaventure.
