Bonnies teams finish 15th, 16th at Atlantic 10 Championships

PHILADELPHIA-The women's team finished 15 of 16 teams and the men's team finished last as conference newcomer Butler swept the Atlantic 10 Championships.

Junior Katie Clark of Butler was the first overall finisher in the women's 5k with a time of 16:55. Temple Senior Travis Mahoney won the men's race on his home course while finishing the 8k race in 25:16.

For the fourth race in a row freshman Kerry Caher led the Bonnies as the women's team finished outside of last place for the first time since joining the Atlantic 10. Caher finished in 19:26 and was closely followed by junior Kady Weisner who clocked in at 19:44.

Freshman Aubrie Russell and sophomore Hannah Robinson were third and fourth for the Bonnies with times of 20:19 and 20:29 respectively. Sophomore Izie Dickinson rounded out the scoring with a time of 21:38.

Freshman Rachel Dorogi and sophomore Taylor Greene were sixth and seventh for the Brown and White with times of 22:09 and 22:48 respectively. Freshman Maggie Schunk was the final finisher as she clocked in at 25:36.

The men's team was again led by sophomore Harley Thompson who came through the line at 28:10. Freshman Joe Ferencik followed Thompson while clocking in at 28:34. Sophomore Steven Kibbe was the third Bona runner through the finish line at 29:26. The mens team was hampered by the loss of sophomore Nick Masiello who was forced to drop out of the race with an injury after leading the Bonnies for part of the course.

Freshmen Nick Konotopskyj, Kevin Sidoran and Caleb Lecker finished next for the Bonnies with times of 29:43, 29;44 and 29:54 respectively. Sophomores Dan Myers and Matt Trifoso finished together at 30:51 and 30:52 respectively. Junior Chris Spiker was the final finisher with a time of 31:28.

The team's final meet will be Northeast Regionals on Nov. 9.
