Courtwright Breaks School Record as A-10 Track Championships Begin

FAIRFAX, Va. – Freshman Zane Courtwright set a new school record in the 800 meters and all three St. Bonaventure men's track competitors set personal best times in the event as the Bonnies ran in their first competition of the 2021 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track Championships Saturday afternoon at George Mason.

Courtwright, a native of North East, Pa., made his A-10 Championships debut by besting his previous personal record by nearly two seconds and just beating teammate Elias Kott's previous program record by .10 seconds as he crossed the finish line in 2:00.14.

Fellow freshman Kieran Ryan also moved up in the program record books, now standing fifth individually as he posted 2:02.11, nearly two full seconds better than his previous best time.

A third freshman, James Sullivan also PR'ed in the event at 2:06.13, over four seconds better than his previous top time in the 800.

The conference championships resume Sunday on ESPN+.
