Men’s Tennis Dominates Niagara, 6-1

LEWISTON, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team defeated Little Three rival Niagara, 6-1, Saturday evening on the road.

The Bonnies began the match by sweeping all three doubles matches to earn the double point.

Stijn Paardekooper and Martin Estevarena paired up for a 6-2 victory at the No. 1 flight while Joseph Blakeley and Paolo Flores earned a 6-3 win at No. 2. Jean Marrero and Marco Rivolo completed the doubles sweep at No. 3 with a 6-3 triumph.

The Bonnies carried their momentum into singles action, winning at the top three spots.

At the No. 1 spot, Estevarena grabbed a win in straight sets while Rivolo and Paardekooper needed three sets each to take down their opponents.

Also winning in three sets for the Brown and White were Flores and Norka Sanchez at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.

The Bonnies (3-3) are off until March 13 when they head to Cleveland State for a doubleheader. The first match in Cleveland is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
