The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team heads to sunny Florida for the 2019 Atlantic 10 Championship. The Bonnies drew the George Washington Colonials in the first round and play at 9:00 a.m. on April 25.
STRENGTH OF SCHEDULE
The Bonnies men's tennis team did not make their 2019 spring schedule for the faint of heart. The Brown and White faced off against three teams ranked in the ITA top-50 rankings (No. 27 Notre Dame, No. 34 Penn State and No. 47 Virginia Tech) and three teams that qualified for the NCAA Tournament last season (Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Navy).
PACING THE PACK
Leading the Bonnies into Florida is freshman Marco Rivolo and senior Indra Patwardhan. Rivolo leads the Bonnies with 17 wins in singles play this season and was the winner of eight out his last 10 matches. Patwardhan, the team's lone senior, is second with 11 wins in singles action. Martin Estevarena has scored eight wins while Logan D'Angelo, Lukas Linden Malmberg and John Rutkowski each have six wins in singles for the Brown and White.
ABOUT GEORGE WASHINGTON
The Colonials travel to Florida with an overall record of 6-13 and 5-3 against A-10 opponents. Most recently, George Washington defeated Saint Joseph's, 4-0, in the regular season finale. The Colonials are led by their one senior, Amlan Sahoo and two juniors, Dennis Afanasev and Jakub Behun.
