Bonnies Set For Three Matches This Week

The St. Bonaventure University men's tennis team hosts Mercyhurst at the SBU Fitness Center Wednesday morning. The match is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. The Bonnies will play a doubleheader on Sunday afternoon on the road with matches against Cleveland State and Oberlin. Play against Cleveland State is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. with competition against Oberlin following at 4:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies recently earned a thrilling 4-3 victory against sister-school Siena. In this victory, senior Indra Patwardhan and his partner Ante Zovko competed at No. 1 doubles, winning 7-6. Patwardhan also won his singles match and received Atlantic 10 Co-Performer of the Week honors for his performance.

ABOUT MERCYHURST
Mercyhurst ended their season with a 17-3 overall record and remained 5-0 in PSAC play through the 2017-18 season. The Lakers fell in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament last season to Concordia (N.Y.). Mercyhurst is led by their two returning seniors - Dusan Cerny and Joe Paradiso.

ABOUT CLEVELAND STATE
Cleveland State is currently 3-4 on the season and are coming off a win against Duquesne, 6-1. The Vikings also have wins over Dayton and Temple this season. Matthew Terry leads the team with 13 singles wins this season while Raul Teichmann and Clark Bilinovich each have 12 solo wins on the year. In doubles action, Benjamin Slade and Nico Mostardi have teamed up for a team high seven wins.

ABOUT OBERLIN
Oberlin enters the weekend with an 0-3 record on the year. The Yeomen competed against Duquesne on Feb. 1. Oberlin is led by its two returning seniors, Elias Duthinh and Matthew Gittings. Last season, the Yeomen finished with an 11-10 record and 2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies are back in action March 2 on the road at Army West Point. Play is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m.
