Complete CoSIDA All-District teams

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – St. Bonaventure University graduate student Maciej Danilewski has earned College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large Team honors, officials announced Thursday.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early August. At-Large sports include M/W fencing, M/W golf, M/W ice hockey, M/W gymnastics, M/W lacrosse, M/W rifle, M/W skiing, M/W swimming, M/W tennis, M/W water polo, women's beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's rowing, women's field hockey, men's volleyball and men's wrestling. Honorees are nominated and voted on by sports information directors from each district.

Danilewski joins fellow Bonnie Sean Westley from men's lacrosse on the District 1 Team and is one of two swimmers to be selected in District 1. Danilewski is the only Atlantic 10 representative on the CoSIDA Men's At-Large Team. District 1 is comprised of colleges and universities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

A native of Bialystok, Poland, Danilewski earned his bachelor's degree in accounting with a cumulative GPA of 3.69 and currently carries a 4.0 GPA in his professional accounting master's program. Danilewski was the recipient of the Austin Finan Award in Finance at graduation last May.

He becomes the first St. Bonaventure swimmer, men's or women's, to earn CoSIDA All-District At-Large honors. Danilewski is also the first Bonnies student-athlete to earn At-Large Team recognition since Robin Mason from women's lacrosse did so in 2007 when she was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-American.

Danilewski played a key role in helping the Bonnies to a fifth-place finish at the 2021 Atlantic 10 Championships, winning a total of four medals. He brought home silver medals in the 200-backstroke (1:44.28), 100-backstroke (47.64) and the 400-medley relay (3:15.32) as well as bronze in the 800-freestyle relay (6:39.54). Danilewski will return this fall for his fifth season with the Bonnies.

Last month, Danilewski was selected to the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
