GENEVA, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University men's swimming team began action at the 2020 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships Wednesday evening at the SPIRE Institute.
The Bonnies sit in three-way tie for fifth place with Davidson and Saint Louis in the team standings after day one with 54 points. George Washington and George Mason are tied atop the standings with 74 points while La Salle rounds out the top three with 62 points.
Wednesday's evening session featured the 200-medley relay and the 800-freestyle relay.
In the 200-medley relay, the team of Maciej Danilewski, Hylton Collinson, Tjaard Krusch and David Shakhnazarov finished in fifth place with a time of 1:28.86, nearly four seconds faster than their seed time.
The 800-freestyle relay concluded day one and saw the Bonnies finish in sixth place. Shakhnazarov, Alec Thomas, Nick Burdo and Jake Ruffolo turned in a time of 6:38.74, finishing 12 seconds faster than their seed time.
Action resumes Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. with the 500-freestyle, 200-IM and 50-freestyle preliminaries while the 1-meter diving preliminary begins at 1:00 p.m.
