ATLANTIC 10 SWIMMING AND DIVING CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – With the dual meet season behind them, the focus of the St. Bonaventure University men's swimming and diving program turns to the 2020 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships that begin Wednesday, Feb. 19 and run through Saturday, Feb. 22.

The Bonnies opened the season by winning the Justin Jennings Memorial Invitational hosted by Colgate on Oct. 12. Along with a 201-99 win over Binghamton on Jan. 20, the Bonnies also have a dual meet win over Little Three rival Canisius, 150-87, back on Nov. 15. St. Bonaventure finished out the dual meet season with a 169-53 victory over Niagara on Jan. 31.

Senior Hylton Collinson and junior Tjaard Krusch have both turned in strong seasons heading into the final meet. Collinson and Krusch lead the team in individual wins this season with 10 apiece. Collinson holds the top times this season in the 50-, 100-, and 200-breaststroke, along with the 200- and 400-IM. Krusch holds the top time for the 100-fly, finishing in 49.87 at the Zippy Invite.

Junior Maciej Danilewski has impressed this season as well, turning in the top times for the 50-, 100-, and 200-backstroke, as well as the 100-IM.

On the diving boards, junior Michael Bruno holds the top score on the 1-meter board for the Brown and White with a score of 301.425 against Binghamton on Senior Day. Sophomore Matthew Bielobradek sits atop the Bona leaderboard in the 3-meter dive, scoring a team-best 310.65 against Niagara on Jan. 31.

The Bonnies will be looking to build on the successes from last year where they finished in third place in the final team standings. Collinson brought home a silver and a bronze medal for the Brown and White while also setting a program record in the 200-breaststroke with a time of 1:59.06. Krusch also brought home a silver medal in the 100-backstroke with a NCAA "B" cut time of 47.61.

In 2018, Krusch captured three medals on his way to the Most Outstanding Rookie honor, making him just the ninth Bonnies swimmer in program history to earn top rookie honors. The Dorshiem, Germany native's finishes in the 200-IM and 200-backstroke were both NCAA "B" cut times.

Bona has finished in the top three at the Atlantic 10 Championships in 24 out of the last 27 years, including championships in 1993, 1999, 2006, 2013 and 2014.
