White, Childs, Schilling Earn Podium Spots in Final Day of Atlantic 10 Championships

GENEVA, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University men's swimming and diving team finished seventh at the 2017 Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships with 391 total points. 

Michael White capped his stellar championship performance with another first-place finish, school record and NCAA B cut time in the 200-butterfly at 1:47.70. White won three total events at the championships with school records and NCAA B cut times, doing so in the 200 and 400-IM as well.

Preston Schilling and Matt Goettler continued their success in breaststroke events into the 200-breaststroke. Schilling timed in at 1:59.98 for third place while Goettler came in fourth shortly behind at 2:00.27.

On the diving board, Austin Childs gave the Bonnies a boost as he finished third at 293.35.

The Bonnies finished up the championships with a fourth-place finish in the 400-freestyle relay as the team of Robert Marshall, White, Nick Burdo and David Shakhnazarov timed in at 2:59.92.

Edward Donovan and Guido Balderrama scored for the Bonnies in the 100-butterfly, and Burdo earned points in the 100-freestyle. John Pietrucha and Matt Taccard scored for St. Bonaventure in the 200-backstroke while Ryan McLaughlin scored in the 3-meter dive.
