GENEVA, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University men's swimming and diving team finished the third day at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships in sixth place with 256 points, highlighted by school-record breaking performances from Michael White and Preston Schilling.
For the second time in the championships, White broke a St. Bonaventure record and finished first with an NCAA B cut time, this time in the 400-IM as he timed in at 3:52.18.
The 100-breaststroke saw a pair of NCAA B cut times earned by Bonnies as Schilling set a new Bona record with a time of 54.17 for second place in the event while Matt Goettler timed in at 55.18 for third place.
St. Bonaventure saw scoring from freshman Nick Burdo in the 200-freestyle as he set a new personal best for his young career at 1:39.55 for seventh place.
Action in the final day of the Atlantic 10 Championships will feature prelims and finals for the 200-backstroke, 100-freestyle, 200-breaststroke, 200-butterfly and 3-meter diving along with the 1650-freestyle and 400-freestyle relay. Prelims begin at 10:00 a.m. with diving prelims and 1:00 p.m. The 1650-free will take place at 3:15 p.m. with finals for the morning's events starting at 6:30 p.m.
