White Takes 200-IM But Buffalo Defeats @BonniesMSwim

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's swimming and diving team saw a win from Michael White but ultimately fell to Buffalo, 164-73, Friday evening.

White's win came in the 200-IM as he timed in at 1:53.63.

The Brown and White earned a second-place finish in the 400-medley relay as Matt Taccard, Matt Goettler, White and Jordan Powers finished at 3:28.30.

Powers (100-butterfly), David Shakhnazarov (100-freestyle) and Preston Schilling (100-backstroke) also finished second in their events for the Bonnies.

The 400-freestyle relay team of Powers, Shakhnazarov, Robert Marshall and Nick Burdo concluded the meet with a second-place finish.

St. Bonaventure will be back in action on Saturday as Niagara comes to the Reilly Center pool for the Brown and White's final dual meet of the season before the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championships. Prior to the 1:00 p.m. start, the men's swimming and diving program will honor its eight seniors: manager David Bryant, Matt Goettler, Kevin Grant, Jack Hughes, Michael Le, Preston Schilling, Alex Szakelyhidi and Michael White.
