ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team was named to the Scholar All America Team by the College Swimming Coaches of America Wednesday for the Fall 2011 Semester.
The men finished 62 out 72 schools and were one of six schools to finish with a cumulative 3.03 GPA.
Over 500 college and university teams have achieved the honor, and have qualified based on the following requirements: The Team Scholar All American award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented to teams achieving this standard in the fall semester and in the semester of the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
The College Swimming Coaches Association is the oldest coaches organization in America. In addition to Scholar All American Awards, the CSCAA recognizes All American Swimmers and Divers at the national championships every year.
After the second day of the Atlantic 10 Championships Thursday, the men's swimming and diving team (201) remains in second-place, 47 points behind defending champion Massachusetts (248) with just two days remaining at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships inside the Flickinger Center.
