EAST LANSING, Mich. – The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team travels to Michigan State this Friday to take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m.
The last time the Bonnies met the Spartans was in February 2010 when the Brown and White fell, 124-111.
In that meet, David Erickson finished in first place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:59.33, and Yi Liu finished in second place in the 200-yard butterfly (1:54.99).
Bonaventure is coming of a split of a tri-meet where they fell to Cleveland State, 144-99, and defeated Valparaiso, 203-24.
In that meet, diver Mike Murphy finished in first place in both events. In the 1-meter, Murphy took gold with a score of 294.15, and in the 3-meter he took first with a combined score of 318.97.
Elias Homerin continued his dominance in long-distance events. He earned a first-place showing in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:41.99) and a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:43.25). Homerin also finished in second-place in the 200-yard butterfly, touching in with a time of 1:56.03.
The Spartans are coming off a narrow defeat of Grand Valley State, 120-119, last Friday.
Following the MSU meet, the Bonnies take a week off and return to the pool Dec. 2-4 at the Zippy Invitational in Akron, Ohio.
