Bona men trail Minutemen after day two of A-10 Championships

BUFFALO, N.Y. – After the second day of the Atlantic 10 Championships, the men's swimming and diving team (254) remains 26 points behind defending champion Massachusetts (280) with just two days remaining at the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships inside the Flickinger Center.

Sophomore Ethan Rowan kicked off the night taking silver in the 500-yard freestyle (4:31.94), earning 17 points for the Brown and White.  Classmate Elias Homerin took fourth clocking a time of 4:34.86 and picking up 15 more points for the Bonnies.

The team held tight to its second place seat, with seniors Kevin Murphy and Chris Baker taking fourth and eighth in the 200-yard IM.  Murphy posted a time of 1:51.79 while Baker swam a 1:54.76.

Senior David Kundzik swam a 20.73 in the 50-yard freestyle, taking third place and earning the Bonnies 16 points.  Senior Jared Robinson notched a time of 21.07 in the same event, taking 11th in the consolation round.   

In men's one-meter diving action, sophomores Mike Murphy and Dominic Butts-Ealy took first and third, respectively.  Murphy earned 300.60 points for the gold while Butts-Ealy nabbed the bronze, posting a score of 287.10.

The team finished off the night with bang, taking first in the 200-yard freestyle relay.  The team of Kundzik, Robinson, Baker and freshman James Martin swam for a combined time of 1:22.24. 

The Championships will continue Friday with preliminaries beginning at 10:30 a.m. and finals at 6:30 p.m.
