BUFFALO, N.Y. – The men's swimming and diving team travels to the University at Buffalo Saturday at 1 p.m. in its final regular-season meet before the Atlantic 10 Championships.
The Bonnies hope to avenge last season's 131-110 loss to the Bulls.
In that meet, Mike Murphy placed first and second in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, earning scores of 305.70 and 271.88, respectively. Mike Dansa captured a first-place win in the 200-yard freestyle, just out-touching classmate Yi Liu who took third-place. Dansa and Liu posted respective times of 1:44.90 and 1:45.69.
In another close race, Liu earned a second-place win in the 200-yard butterfly, touching the wall at 1:56.48. He came in just behind UB's Chris Berloth, who posted a winning time of 1:56.13.
The Brown and White are coming off a dominating 206-87 victory against Niagara last Saturday.
In that meet, Chris Baker and Kevin Murphy, along with juniors Francisco Nieves and Ilya Nenashev, kicked off the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay. The group swam a combined time of 1:37.58.
In individual events, Murphy excelled in the 50-yard freestyle, earning first place with a time of 22.10. Nieves grabbed second, swimming a 22.22.
Following the UB meet, the Bonnies will begin final preparations for the A-10 Championships. St. Bonaventure will serve as the host institution, as the championships will be held at the Flickinger Athletic Center in Buffalo Feb. 23-26.
