STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - A day after its defeat of Binghamton University, the men's swimming and diving team fell to Penn State, 141-94.
Sophomore Mike Murphy showcased his talents once again, taking first place in the 3-meter diving competition with 340.28 points. He also placed second in the 1-meter diving event, scoring 292.73 points.
In the 1000-yard freestyle, sophomore Ethan Rowan grabbed a win for the Brown and White, clocking a time of 9:41.92.
Mike Dansa also picked up a first-place finish for the Bonnies, swimming a 1:00.14 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Teammate Bob Rutowski touched in just behind Dansa with a 1:01.01, good for second place.
Senior Kevin Murphy took second place in the 200-yard freestyle event. Murphy swam a 1:44.62, coming in just behind Penn State's Austin John (1:44.57).
In the 50-yard freestyle, senior Dawid Kundzik placed second, touching in at 21.64, while junior Yi Liu clocked a time of 4:13.26 in the 400-yard IM, taking second.
Elias Homerin also earned a second-place spot, swimming a 4:47.91 in the 500-yard freestyle.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of K. Murphy, Kundzik, senior Chris Baker and freshman James Martin placed first with a combined time of 1:25.88.
The Bonnies return to the pool next Saturday when they host the Niagara Purple Eagles at the Reilly Center Pool.
