AKRON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure men's swimming and diving team dives back into the pool on Friday after two weeks off at the weekend-long Zippy Invitational in Akron, Ohio.

The Bonnies finished in third place at last year's invitational, and they look to improve on that finish this weekend as part of the nine-team field.

In the meet last year, then-sophomore Yi Lui took second in the 200-yard butterfly 'A' finals, touching the wall in 1:54.83.
Then-freshmen Ethan Rowan and Elias Homerin earned points for the Bonnies as they placed fourth and ninth, respectively, in the 1,650-yard freestyle. Rowan posted a time of 16:29.05, while Homerin touched the wall at 16:42.86.

The Brown and White are coming off a tough 136-105 loss at home to Cleveland State on Nov. 13.

The Bonnies had three first-place finishes against the Vikings, including Rowan who claimed the 200-yard freestyle title, touching in 1:43.47. The Matthews, N.C. product also finished in second place in both the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle with times of 9:48.61 and 4:42.57, respectively.

The University of Akron hosts the weekend tournament, which begins on Friday at 9 a.m. and runs through Sunday. A full schedule and more information can be found here.
