Men's Swimming falls to Pitt, 158-125

PITTSBURGH, Penn. –The men's swimming and diving team fell to the University of Pittsburgh today, 158-125, at Pitt's annual 'Pink the Pool' meet at Trees Pool . 

In diving, freshman Dominic Butts-Ealy took first in the 1 meter dive, earning a score of 257.18 while sophomore Mike Murphy picked up a second-place finish in the 1 meter with 219.60 points.  Murphy also took fifth in the 3 meter dive with 274.80 points.

In relay action, the 200-yard freestyle relay picked up a first-place finish with M Murphy, freshman James Martin, and seniors Dawid Kundzik and Chris Baker swimming a combined time of 1:26.95.  In the 400-yard medley relay, Kundzik, Martin, junior Peter Koenig and senior Kevin Murphy swam a collective time of 3:28.34, earning second place.

K. Murphy grabbed a first-place finish for the Brown and White in the 200-yard IM, notching a time of 2:00.81 and earned third place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.34.

Baker also picked up a first-place finish for the Bonnies, swimming a 52.59 in the 100-yard butterfly.  He also took second in the 200 IM, touching in at 2:01.12.

The sophomores helped out the team with Ethan Rowan (4:48.32) and Elias Homerin (4:56.30) taking first and second in the 500-yard freestyle, consecutively.   

The Bonnies return to the pool Nov. 6 at ECC.  Diving is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.
