ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. - Konrad Paszkowski scored two goals to lead St. Bonaventure over Dayton, 2-0, in the Atlantic 10 Conference opener for both teams on Friday afternoon at McGraw-Jennings Field.
The Bonnies' junior midfielder scored both of his goals in a two-minute span in the first half. Paszkowski scored off passes from classmate Andy Garcia in the 5th and 6th minute of action.
The Bonnies' defense held off a Flyers' rally in the second half to seal the victory.
Bona keeper Sean Eyde tallied six saves and was particularly sharp in the second half to preserve the win. The Flyers outshot the Bonnies 19-5, including 15-1 in the second half of play.
The Bonnies improved to 5-2-1 overall. Dayton fell to 3-4-1.
St. Bonaventure returns to action Sunday, Oct. 3, when it hosts Xavier at 1 p.m.
