VESTAL, N.Y. - St. Bonaventure tied the No. 19 nationally ranked Binghamton Bearcats 1-1 today in sloppy conditions. The game ended in a draw in double overtime.
St. Bonaventure junior midfielder Fredrick Taylor netted his first goal in a Bona uniform, in the 28th minute. Taylor scored the Bonnies' lone goal off a free kick from classmate Andy Garcia.
In the second period, the Bearcats struck back with a goal from Charles Darkwah off a pass from Danilo in the 56th minute.
In a complete game, senior keeper Sean Eyde recorded four saves for the Bonnies, as they remain undefeated on the year. Binghamton outshot the Bonnies 16-11. Fouls plagued both teams, the Bonnies totaled 26 and the Bearcats 21.
The Bonnies record stands at 3-0-1 on the year. The Bearcats record falls to 2-0-2. Binghamton entered the week ranked No. 19 nationally by both the College and Soccer News and the NSCAA/Adidas Top 25.
The Bonnies will play host to Niagara on Wednesday September 15th at 4 p.m.
