BOWLING GREEN, O.H. - St. Bonaventure earned its second win of the season with a 3-2 victory over Loyola in the first round of the Bowling Green Tournament on Saturday, September 4.
Loyola jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, while the Bonnies remained scoreless until the 63rd minute. Junior defender Konrad Paszkowski scored unassisted. Junior defender Steve Roach netted the game-tying goal on a penalty kick in the 77th minute. Seven minutes later, sophomore midfielder Kevin Omokhua put the game-winning goal past Loyola keeper Sean Bond.
The Bonnies outshot Loyola 13-11, including nine in the second half. Omokhua led the offense with four shots, while junior midfielder Andy Garcia totaled three. St. Bonaventure senior goalkeeper Sean Eyde recorded six saves, improving his record to 2-0 on the season.
With the win, the Bonnies improved to 2-0, while the Ramblers fell to 0-2.
St. Bonaventure takes on Bowling Green in the final day of the tournament Sunday at 4 p.m.
