ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – Joshua Pulla and Matthew Wrobel netted first half goals as the St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team fought to a double overtime draw with Little Three rival Canisius, 2-2, Friday night at the Marra Athletics Complex.

Pulla opened the Bonaventure scoring in the 15th minute, pouncing on a rebound in front of net and punching the shot into the back of the net to give the Bonnies a 1-0 advantage.

Just moments later in the 19th minute, Matthew Wrobel extended the Bonnies lead to 2-0 after he took a feed from Pulla and finished the shot for the freshman's second goal in as many games.

Canisius (0-1-2) bounced back in the second half, cutting the deficit to one in the 65th minute on a Ryan Dagelman.

The Griffs knotted the score at 2-2 in the 77th minute when Noah Hodson was played through on what seemed to be an offside call but the referee played on and the goal was counted.

The Bonnies (0-1-1) and Griffs could not get anything going in the first overtime period. Canisius had a chance to win the game just a minute into the second overtime, but the Luke Szablewski hit the crossbar.

Justyn Sandhu finished with four saves in net for the Bonnies. Pulla led the Bonnies with five shots and Wrobel added four.

The Bonnies outshot the Griffs, 20-15, while also firing 12 shots on net.

The Brown and White head back out on the road Tuesday, Sept. 7 when they visit Cleveland State. That game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
