ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team fell to Dayton, 6-0, Saturday afternoon in the season finale at the Marra Athletics Complex.
Dayton's goals in the 39th and 40th minute proved to be too much for the Bonnies to overcome Saturday afternoon.
The first 38 minutes of the first half were back and forth with both teams generating chances on net.
In the 11th minute, Isaac Boamah had a chance to get the Bonnies on the board but his shot sailed high over the crossbar.
Bona goalkeeper Trevor Wilson was able to keep Dayton off the scoreboard in the 30th minute, making a save to his right off a rocket of a shot from the Flyers.
Andy Sanchez broke through for the Flyers in the 39th minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
Just moments later, Dayton struck again, extending its lead to 2-0 late in the first half.
It was all Dayton in the second half as the Flyers added four goals to earn the victory.
Trevor Wilson made five saves in net for the Bonnies in his first start of the season.
The Bonnies finish the regular season with an overall record of 4-4-1.
