Billikens Blitz Bonnies in A-10 Road Match

ST. LOUIS – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team was defeated by Saint Louis, 6-1, Saturday evening on the road.

Saint Louis blitzed the Bonnies from the start, scoring four goals in the first 17 minutes and never looked back.

The Bonnies (4-3-1, 1-3-1 A-10) got on the board after they were awarded a penalty kick following a Saint Louis handball in the box in the 27th minute. Shea Currey stepped up and slotted home his team-high fourth goal of the season.

Saint Louis (8-4-0, 2-2-0 A-10) punched home a fifth goal just after halftime in the 49th minute, halting all St. Bonaventure momentum.

Another Billikens goal in the 73rd minute secured Saint Louis the three points in the standings.

Justyn Sandhu made five saves in net while David Cubillos and Jaaziel Thompson played the full 90 minutes.

The Bonnies are back in action Saturday, April 10 in the regular season finale at home against Dayton. That game is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
