Hansen, Tiozzo Score To Give Bonnies 2-0 Road Victory Over Duquesne

PITTSBURGH – Fredrik Hansen and Luca Tiozzo both registered goals as the St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team defeated Duquesne, 2-0, in Atlantic 10 play Saturday afternoon on the road.

Hansen gave the Bonnies (4-2-1, 1-2-1 A-10) a 1-0 lead in the 72nd minute off a feed from Joshua Pulla.

In the 88th minute, freshman Luca Tiozzo scored the first goal of his St. Bonaventure career, giving the Bonnies a late insurance tally. Pulla and Francesco Caorsi were tabbed with the assists to clinch three crucial points in the A-10 standings.

Sophomore goalkeeper Justyn Sandhu had a standout game in net, making seven saves to earn the second shutout of his career.

Sandhu kept the Dukes (2-3-0, 2-2-0 A-10) off the board in the first half in the 31st minute, making a save diving to his right and then stopping another shot in the 33rd minute in a key stretch of action.

Cuneyt Vardar and Pulla each tallied two shots for the Bonnies.

The Bonnies are back in action on the road Saturday, April 3 at Saint Louis. That game is slated to start at 7:00 p.m. EST/6:00 p.m. CST.
