KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Both the St. Bonaventure men's and women's soccer teams have earned recognition with Team Academic Awards from the United Soccer Coaches Association for exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year.
College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster for the past academic year.
St. Bonaventure's men's team recorded a cumulative 3.59 GPA during the past academic year and was one of nine Atlantic 10 programs to receive the Team Academic Award.
Head coach Kwame Oduro's squad continued their impressive run of academic excellence, taking the award for the fourth consecutive year.
The Bonnies' women's team earned Team Academic Award accolades as well after producing a 3.61 cumulative GPA in the classroom. SBU was one of eight A-10 women's teams to pick up the honors.
Head coach Steve Brdarski's program has long been on the United Soccer Coaches Association Team Academic Awards list – the Bonnies have been named each year since 2007.
