DAYTON, Ohio – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team dropped an Atlantic 10 matchup, 6-2, to Dayton Saturday night on the road.
Dayton (6-7, 2-2 A-10) wasted no time getting on the board Saturday night, scoring the opening goal in the second minute of the contest, giving the Flyers a 1-0 edge.
Moments later in the 20th minute, the Flyers added their second goal of the night, extending the lead to 2-0. Dayton pushed its advantage to 3-0 just a half minute later in the 21st minute.
A fourth goal of the first half gave the Flyers a 4-0 advantage they would not surrender.
The Bonnies (2-9, 0-5) pulled closer in the 39th minute on Fredrik Hansen's successful penalty conversion, making the score 4-1.
Dayton added another insurance goal on the night in the 53rd minute, extending its lead to 5-1.
Freshman Joshua Pulla scored the first goal of his career in the 70th minute of the contest, making the game 5-2.
One more goal for the Flyers would seal the deal and the 6-2 win in Saturday's contest when Kingsford Adjei completed his hat trick in the 71st minute.
Goalkeeper Trevor Wilson made eight saves in net.
The Bonnies are back in action Tuesday, Oct. 15 on the road at Army West Point. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
