KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team has earned recognition for success in the classroom from the United Soccer Coaches Association, receiving the organization's Team Academic Award for the third year in a row.
Head coach Kwame Oduro's team compiled a 3.1 cumulative GPA during the 2018-19 academic year to receive the honor. College Team Academic Award recipients are active members of the United Soccer Coaches College Services Program with a composite grade point average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale for all players on the roster.
St. Bonaventure also earned recognition from the NCAA by ranking in the top 10 percent of men's soccer teams in the nation for Academic Progress Rate (APR) in 2017-18 with a perfect score of 1,000. The Bonnies narrowly missed a top ranking for the 2018-19 academic year with a score of 996. The Bonnies also earned APR top 10 percent recognition in the 2015-16 academic year.
