The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team travels to Pittsburgh to face Atlantic 10 foe Duquesne this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies last played Saturday, Sept. 28 on the road at Fordham. The Rams came away with a 1-0 double overtime win, scoring the game-winning goal with just four second remaining on the clock. Fredrik Hansen tallied four shots on the night while Kyle Cunningham made seven saves in net.
The Bonnies and the Dukes have played a total of 17 times dating back to 2002. The Bonnies have won the previous two matchups between the two teams, both coming in thrilling fashion. Last season at the Marra Athletics Complex, the Bonnies defeated Duquesne, 3-2, thanks to a Jon-Michael Perkins goal in the 90th minute. In 2017, Isaiah Barret netted the game-winning goal in double overtime on the road to seal a Bonnies win. Duquesne, however, leads the all-time series 10-4-3.
THE OPPONENT: DUQUESNE
Duquesne enters Saturday's contest with an overall record of 6-3-1 and 1-1 in the Atlantic 10. After a 1-1 draw in the season opener, the Dukes went on to win six games in a row over Oakland, VMI, Niagara, California Baptist, Robert Morris and Saint Joseph's. Since defeating Saint Joseph's, Duquesne has dropped three straight contests to Saint Francis (Pa.), La Salle and Liberty. All three losses have come by a 2-1 score.
The Bonnies are back in action at home Oct. 9 when they welcome George Washington to the Marra Athletics Complex. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
