The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team travels to Fordham on Saturday for their first road conference game of the season. The Bonnies are coming off a 3-1 loss at Niagara on Tuesday.
BONNIES IN THE NEWS
Bonnies junior midfielder Jaaziel Thompson was recently featured in The Buffalo News. The newspaper shared his story and how he ended up at SBU.
Thompson was raised in Kingston, Jamaica, but left for the United States in 2016. He found himself at Western Iowa Community College where he earned his associates degree in just three semesters.
He was then recruited by Bonnies head coach Kwame Oduro and he ended up at SBU for two reasons, soccer and family. Thompson chose to play soccer in Western New York because it was close to his brother who had moved to Ottawa, Canada.
The midfielder has been a key part of the Bonnies freshman class. He has blended in nicely to the mix of experienced transfers and young talented freshman that Oduro brought in this year.
Thompson was able to see brother for the first time in two years at Tuesday's game at Niagara.
