ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team could not overcome an early deficit, falling to Hartford, 1-0, Sunday at the Marra Athletics Complex.
Hartford (3-2) opened the scoring in the 11th minute on a Tomer Drimmer goal, giving the Hawks a 1-0 edge.
The Bonnies (1-3) found good chances to score in the first half as they outshot the Hawks, 7-3. Fredrik Hansen had the best look at the net in the 36th minute, firing a shot to the left of the goalkeeper, but it was turned away.
Earlier in the first half for the Brown and White in the 26th minute, Francesco Caorsi barely missed the equalizer, pushing the shot just wide of the net.
The Hartford defense put the clamps down in the second half to preserve their shutout, allowing the Bonnies to fire two shots.
Hansen led the way with two shots for the Brown and White.
The Bonnies face a quick turnaround as Little Three rival Canisius comes to town Tuesday, Sept. 17. That game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
