Bonnies Set For Final Home Contests of Regular Season Against Howard, Duquesne

The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team hosts Howard and Duquesne at the Marra Athletics Complex this week. The Bonnies begin their final home stand with a non-conference matchup against Howard at 7:00 p.m. Bona concludes its 2018 home schedule with an Atlantic 10 contest against Duquesne also at 7:00 p.m.

Entering this week, the Bonnies sit in 10th place with six points. Bona, however, is still alive in the A-10 playoff race but need a victory Saturday against Duquesne.

LAST TIME OUT
The Bonnies fell to Saint Joseph's on the road last Saturday night, 3-0. Senior goalkeeper Tyler Elliott made his second start of the season, making five saves on the night. Kosi Nwafornso fired five shots to pace the Bonnies offensive attack.

ABOUT HOWARD
Howard enters Wednesday's contest sporting a record of 2-7-3 overall and 0-3 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Bison were picked to finish fifth in the Sun Belt preseason poll. Goalkeeper Carlos Caro was named to the Sun Belt Preseason All-Conference team and has started in all 12 games, making 57 saves. Victor Guirma and Andres Gomes pace the Bison offense. Guirma has found the back of the net five times while Gomes has scored four goals.

ABOUT DUQUESNE
The Dukes enter the week with an overall record of 4-7-3 and 2-2-2 in the Atlantic 10. Duquesne is coming off a 3-1 upset of No. 23 Rhode Island. The Dukes were picked to finish 13th in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll. Noah Mehta and Manel Busquets each have double-digit points for Duquesne. Mehta has four goals and four assists for 12 points while Busquets has four goals and three assists, totaling 11 points. Robbie McKelvey has started nine games in net and has made 37 saves on the year.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies travel to VCU Wednesday, Oct. 31 for their final regular season game of 2018. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
