The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team hits the road for a contest against the Hartford Hawks on Friday night. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

For the second straight week, the Bonnies will be on the road for a Friday contest. Last week the Brown and White traveled to the Bluegrass State to take on No. 6 Louisville. The Bonnies battled to a 2-1 defeat in the season opener.

On Sunday, the Bonnies made their home debut at the Marra Athletics Complex against Robert Morris. The Bonnies and the Colonials fought to a 0-0 double overtime draw.

ABOUT HARTFORD
Hartford enters Friday's contest with a record of 0-1-1 after opening its season with a 1-1 draw against Wisconsin-Green Bay and a 2-0 defeat at the hands of No. 12 Wisconsin. Senior midfielder Xahne Reid led the way for the Hawks against UW-Green Bay, netting the only goal for Hartford. The Hawks were picked to finish seventh in the America East Conference preseason poll. This is the first ever meeting between the two teams.

JUST WARMING UP
Coming off a career-high 81 saves a season ago, senior Luke Iacobellis has made nine stops in the team's first two games. Against Louisville, Iacobellis came up with a huge save on a penalty kick in the second half to keep the scored tied at 1-1. He tallied five saves in all against the Cardinals. In the Robert Morris match, the senior made four saves including a stop in the 83rd minute in a one-on-one situation against a Colonial attacker. The save preserved the first clean sheet for Iacobellis this season and number eight for his career.

CONTRIBUTING NEWCOMERS
Newcomers Cuneyt Vardar and Fredrik Hansen have each seen significant playing time in the first two games of the season for the Bonnies. Hansen has started in both contests in the midfield and Vardar got the starting nod against Robert Morris on the outside. Hansen has totaled 143 minutes played and Vardar has seen 77 minutes of playing time.

UP NEXT
The Bonnies remain on the road as they travel to face 2017 NCAA Tournament Qualifier Albany on Monday, Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m.
