St. Bonaventure Men's Soccer Signs Three To National Letters of Intent

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team has signed three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent to join the program in the fall of 2018, head coach Kwame Oduro announced.

Gordon Glenn, Cuneyt Vardar and Jacob Jashinski have all signed NLIs to attend St. Bonaventure.

"I am ecstatic to announce our 2018 recruiting class," Oduro said. "These players will add depth and raise the competition level on our team. We are excited to see these young men succeed in the classroom and on the field. I'd like to thank my coaching staff for these great recruits and also thank our admissions, compliance director and financial aid staff for making these players' dream a reality."

Gordon Glenn comes to St. Bonaventure from Montclair, N.J. Competing for Montclair High as a centerback, Glenn scored three goals and had four assists his senior year. During the summer he plays for Match Fit Academy. Gordon intends to major in business at St. Bonaventure.

COACH ODURO ON GORDON GLENN: "Gordon is a very good defender. His athleticism and aerial abilities are key attributes that will make our team better. We expect Gordon to come in and contribute right away."

Joining the Bonnies from Webster, N.Y. is Cuneyt Vardar. Vardar competes for Webster Thomas as an outside midfielder. He tallied 15 goals and 12 assists in his sophomore and junior seasons. Cuneyt also trained with the Youth Academy of Galatasaray in Istanbul, Turkey. He plans on being a health science major at St. Bonaventure.

COACH ODURO ON CUNEYT VARDAR: "Cuneyt is one of our early signings. He has excellent work ethic; he is a winger that can use both feet equally. He has a bright future at the collegiate level and we expect him to contribute some good minutes as a winger."

Josh Jashinski joins the Brown and White from Pittsburgh, Pa. He competes for Shaler Area as a midfielder. Jashinski scored 22 goals and had eight assists in his senior season. Also in his senior season, he was named to the All-WPIAL Team. Josh also played baseball and tennis in high school. He plans on being a finance major at St. Bonaventure.

COACH ODURO ON JOSH JASHINSKI: "Jake is another recruit with a good work ethic. He is comfortable playing with both feet and he is going to add depth to our midfield. Jake has good awareness and an excellent range of passing. He is a player we hope will give us some minutes next year."

The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team ended its 2017 season with four straight wins in Atlantic 10 Conference play to earn a bid in the A-10 Tournament, closing the season at 8-9-2 overall.
