The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team travels to Philadelphia Wednesday night for a crucial Atlantic 10 matchup against La Salle. The contest is set to start at 7:00 p.m. with A-10 playoff implications on the line.
LAST TIME OUT
The Brown and White has earned two consecutive 1-0 victories over Duquesne and George Mason in the past week. Against Duquesne, junior Isaiah Barrett netted the game-winner in the 102nd minute in double overtime to give the Bonnies the win. Last Saturday against the Patriots, Isaiah Wilson found the back of the net in the 36th minute to give St. Bonaventure a lead it would not relinquish. Goalkeeper Luke Iacobellis tallied his fourth and fifth shutouts of the season.
ABOUT LA SALLE
La Salle enters Saturday's game with an overall record of 7-8-1 and 2-4 in the Atlantic 10. The Explorers are led by redshirt senior Matt Robinson, who has seven goals and four assists on the season. Senior midfielder Johnny Ciarlante has accumulated 41 shots and 25 shots on goal on the year. La Salle has gone 6-2-1 while playing at home in 2017.
The final two games for the men's soccer team are essentially must-win games and St. Bonaventure is currently tied for the eighth and final playoff spot with La Salle and Saint Louis at six points each. The Bonnies are looking to make the A-10 Tournament for the first time since 2010. The top eight teams will make the conference playoffs starting Nov. 4.
St. Bonaventure will host VCU in its regular season finale on Wednesday, Nov. 1. The game is set to start at 7:00 p.m. at the Marra Athletics Complex.
