The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team heads to Saint Louis Saturday afternoon in hopes of taking sole possession of second place in the Atlantic 10. They currently are tied for the spot with VCU at 10 points, though a win could pull them to within two points of Saint Louis, who is in first with 15 points.

The St. Bonaventure University men's soccer team defeated the George Washington Colonials, 1-0, in the final home match at the Marra Athletics Complex Wednesday afternoon. The game's lone goal came from Bonaventure Akinlosotu just after the start of the second half. The Bona keeper Alex Olday made a game-saving stop on a penalty kick midway through the second half to hold the 1-0 lead.

The Saint Louis men's soccer team went the entire month of September without a win, but it has since turned its game around, going undefeated thus far in conference play. Sophomore Ben Yaeger has started the last four games in net and has stood tall for the Billikens, allowing two goals on 17 shots in 362:10 played. Yaeger has put up two shutouts in his four games, earning the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week last week. Freshman midfielder Saadiq Mohammed garnered Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors last week, and has seven points in eight games played this season. Though Saint Louis has spread the points around this season, Mohammed's seven is good the team lead, one higher than redshirt junior midfielder Max Karcher and senior midfielder/defender Joe Saad.

With two Atlantic 10 games remaining, including this evening's against Saint Louis, the Bonnies have put themselves in a position to head to the Atlantic 10 tournament. They sit tied for second with 10 points, while the eighth and final spot is tied at six points for both La Salle and Rhode Island.

The Bonnies' final two games will be played on the road, first at NJIT on Oct. 29 at 2:00 p.m. with their regular season finale coming at Fordham on Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
