Marist Gets Past @BonniesMSoccer with Two Second Half Goals

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team fell to Marist, 2-0, Saturday afternoon at the Marra Athletics Complex.

Marist, ranked No. 22 by in the most recent ranking, earned both goals from Cameron Harr. Both came in the second half.

The Bona goalkeeper Alex Olday made five saves on the day, laying out and punching away several strong Marist chances. Olday made three highlight-reel saves in the first half to hold the game scoreless into the break.

The Bonnies' best opportunity to get on the board came in the 34th minute. Off a cross, Kyle Kleckner headed the ball toward the Marist net. The chance beat the keeper, but it ricocheted off the right post.

Marist's first goal came mid-way through the second half at the 68:12 mark as Harr received a pass from Conner Flatley. Harr rifled a shot that bounced off the right post and into the side netting on the left side of the cage.

Then, Marist doubled its lead as Harr again found the back of the net in the 85th minute.

The two teams tied for 13 shots. Kosi Nwafornso and Kieran Toland had four shots each. Paul Afful chipped in two. Kleckner, Matthew Lane and Jacob Dyck rounded out the 13 Bona attempts.

The Bonnies will be in action next as they begin Atlantic 10 play on Saturday, Oct. 1. Saint Joseph's comes to town, and kickoff at the Marra Athletics Fields Complex is set for 6:00 p.m.
