The St. Bonaventure men's soccer team fell at Hartwick, 3-0, in its first game of the 2016 season on Friday.
The Bonnies held off the Hartwick attack for the first 19 minutes of the game, but the Hawks broke through and scored the first goal of the game at the 19:24 mark. Shortly after, a headed cross landed into the back of the Bona net at the 27:10 mark for the second goal of the game to put the Hawks up, 2-0. The Hawks scored their third and final goal of the game at the 74:34 mark.
The Hawks put five shots on goal, and the sophomore Bona goalkeeper Luke Iacobellis made two saves.
SCOUTING THE BISON
Bucknell is coming off a 3-0 loss over Delaware on Friday night in its season opener.
The Bison went 7-7-5 in 2015. They went 4-1-1 in conference play, and earned a spot in the Patriot League Tournament for the fourth consecutive season.
Sebastiaan Blickman is back for his senior season after serving as the second-highest goal scorer in 2015 (6). He also fired a team-best 46 shots, putting 19 on net while earing three assists. Zack Rockmore is also back, having scored four goals and while starting all 18 games last season.
The Bison graduated two goalkeepers last season and replaced them with two freshmen for the 2016 season.
FILL THE HILL
Those in attendance will have a chance to take home a Bonnie's men's soccer jersey, as one will be given away each time the Brown and White score.
The Bonnies will hit the road for two straight games at Elon (Sept. 2) and at High Point (Sept. 4) before returning home on Sept. 11 to take on Robert Morris.
